A ROUMANIAN’S REVELATITIONS.
Prince Ghika, the Roumanian Minister at Rome, in an interview with the correspondent of the Gazcltn del Popolo, makes some revelations regarding Germany. He says that a conversation with the German Ambassador in Rome, one month before the assassination ol: the Austrian Archduke, by its insidious and insinuating tendency, convinced him that Germany was contemplating a European conflict, of which he then warned his Government. Prince Ghika said: —“I can boast of having been a prophet. I had a presentiment of what was to happen, but my conviction became stronger after the conversation I had with the German Ambassador, Her von Flotow, in Rome on May 15th, 11)14, 1 was on good terms with him, but his disposition was taciturn, avoiding all idle talk. 1 was therefore surprised when, while attending a horse show at Tor di seated beside me on the grandstand, he asked me abruptly how I thought the impending summer would pass politically. I replied that the outlook was that it would be monotonous, like all previous summers. But Herr von Flotow asked me, ‘What vyill be Roumania’s attitude in the event of a conflict between Austria and (Servin'?’ and he added that Bulgaria had asked to join (he Triple Alliance, but Germany and Austria, before entertaining, the proposal, wish to be sure it would not be displeasing to Ronmania. Regarding Greece, Herr von Flotow declared there were no grounds for any apprehension about her attitude. From that moment,” continued Prince Ghika, “I was fully convinced that a secret t reaty had been signed between Bulgaria and the Teuton Empires, and 1 no longer doubled that war was approaching.”
