There was a particularly good muster on the local green yesterday afternoon, over 20 players taking part. The first game to deride the ladders of the Awahou Feathers, presented by Dr. Mandl, was played between teams selected by the President (Mr 1). Whibley) and vicepresident (Mr P. Lumsden). These trophies are for competition among the Poxton , Levin and Shannon f'lnbs, and have been given with a view to encouraging the younger players, one of the conditions being that each team must include at least two players of not more than two years standing.
