BIBLES ON WATCH CHAINS.
The devout in all lands have their own particular way of giving outward demonstration to (heir piety. In Russia it frequently lakes the form of wearing miniature Bibles as charms on the watch chain. They are got up in attractive form about an inch square, and threeeighths of an inch in thickness, and contain the first live Books of the Old Testament. The text of the Book is in Hebrew, and the titles in Latin. It is true that the Book could not be read without the aid of a powerful magnifying glass, but that does not trouble the Russian “uncoguid”; he places great reliance on the fact that he carries the “Word" on his person.
