Our informant says she was told to guess within a pound of the carcase by one who said he knew the exact weight. The point is that the sheep should not be put on the scales until after the competition closes, in order to remove any suspicion. The majority who invest however, do not care a straw whether they win the sheep or not.

An exciting 'adventure happened to the carl lift attendant, Aliss Bradley, at the Helsize I’ark ‘‘Tube” Station, London. The doors could not be opened, and two panels had to be cut away before (he girl could be rescued.
