A NEW IDEA IN DRESS.
That bright and up-to-date magazine—“Kverylady’s Journal” —lias discovered t yel another form of war-time economy in the adoj)l,ion of a standardised dress for women. This does not mean dial all women are to he dressed alike in a sort of cut-10-measure uniform, hut that a definite limit is to he sef fo the whims of fashion, and that eerlain lines of style and shape he universally adopted. That this would mean an immense amount of saving in time and money without in the least interfering with the charm and grace of woman’s appearance, or inflicting any hardship on the manufacturers, is claimed hy the writer.
Various views on this subject are exjrressed by such notable people as Mrs William Hughes, the Prime Minister’s wife (of whom a charming photograph with her baby is presented), Miss Minnie Love, the musical comedy actress, Madame Mel ha, and a noted woman’s tailor. The opinions of these contributors make entertaining and useful reading. These are hut samples of a score of interesting articles in a particularly line number of “Everylady’s Journal” —not to mention scores of fashion designs and several free patterns.
