On and after Ist December mails will be altered to dose as under:— Wellington and south, 2.45 p.m. and 8 p.m.; Palmerston North and Wanganui and north: Sundays, 8 p.m.; Tuesdays, AVednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 7.30 a.m.; Mondays and Fridays, 1.40 p.m.; Tuesdays, AVednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 2.30 p.m. A. A recent number of Ihe German Socialist paper Vorwarls, by Avay of illustrating the avua'c of hatred of England now sweeping across Germany (juoted the following from the leading German medical journal, the Mnnchcner Medizinischc Wo - chcnschrift, the extract being from an article by a certain Dr. AV. Fnchs; “Educate to Hate! Educate to reverence of Hale! Educate to love of Hate! Away with the false fear of brutality and fanaticism! We must not hesitate blasphemously to declare; ‘And now ahideth faith, hope and hate! But the greatest of these is hate." The German medical man is physician-in-chief in the Asylum for the Insane in Emmendingen (Bavaria), a circumstance Avhich prompts Vorwarls to remark : “Pity his poor patients.”
