STRONG REMARKS IX AUCKLAXD COURT. Auckland, Last Xight. Strong remarks regarding lack of parental control of young girls Avere made in a case in the PoliceCourt to-day, Avhen it Avas alleged that a taxi-cab driver had been responsible for ruining a number of young girls to whom he gave joy rides in his car. The Probation Officer said that it Avas deplorable the number of ruined young girls in the city. He had met numerous cases Avltore relatives had sought, his aid for girls Avhieh the Queen Street Friday and Saturday night's parade had ruined. He advocated Avomen police. The Magistrate said that the ago of consent was the Avhole trouble. The question of the supervision of girls AA'as certainly becoming prominent and it made one think that some action was necessary in regard to the man referred to. The Magistrate advocated a “tar and feathering,” and a “good hiding.”
