CONCERT AND SOCIAL

The concert, and social, hold under the auspices of All Saints’ choir in the schoolroom on Tuesday night, was poorly attended. We make on apology for saying that the choir has reason to feel disappointed at the lack of interest taken by parishioners in its welfare when an opportunity is afforded to show practical sympathy. The elements were not too propitious, hut not bad enough to keep people indoors. As the programme is to he repeated in a fortnight’s time, it is hoped that the congregation at. least will make good by tilling the schoolroom. The programme was distinctly good and varied. Air Hetty’s orchestra eonirilmted a couple of selections; a glee parly consisting of Alosdaines Harvey, Guilder, Signal, Alisses Moxham, Price, Haro, King, .Messrs Rev. Haine, Betty and Signal, contributed a well- balanced item. Messrs H. Signal, .lane, Collins, Neshii, MeColl, and Mrs Guilder rendered vocal items. Mrs Wainwright’s elocutionary efforts were again keenly appreciated. Air ilornhlow gave a monologue, Messrs Haiigban am! Walls instrumental (cornel) duet, Air Simmons violin selections. The. star number was a vocal item, “April Alorn,” by Airs Slack, This lady possesses a parlieularly sweet lyric soprano voice, and her interpretation of (lie song at, once disclosed a linished course. We have not beard anything to equal this rendering at. any concert previously held in Eoxlon . The accompaniments were played by Miss Hetty and Air Collins. Refreshments were provided by the lady members of the congregation.

The Rev. Air Raine, in thanking the performers, regretted the small attendance, and stated that; the programme would be repealed next Thursdav week.
