THE WOOL CLIP.
RESERVED FOR BRITAIN AND ALLIES. The New Zealand Govornmenl has received a, cabled request from the Imperial Government to see that all crossbred wool exported from the Dominion is shipped to Britain, or if the Imperial authorities so direct, to Allied countries. Provision is made for the export of a limited quantity to America, hut Hie effect, of Hie order is practically to eliminate American competition from wool sales in Hie Dominion this season. Last year an exactly similar direction was received, but if did not take effect until a number of Hie sales had been held, at which the Americans bought most of the wool (hey required, and they were allowed to ship this woo! already purchased. This gave the New Zealand wool-growers the advantage of such enhancement of prices as might have been caused by American competition, an advantage which they will not have this year.
