The hemp market continues very Jirm, there being a particularly good demand. All the mills in the district are in full swing, and the output at present is very large. The improved weather conditions are also making an appreciable difference to the quality and quantiy of the hemp being turned out. The question of shipping space is still causing those connected with the industry considerable anxiety, and it is feared that the shortage in this .direction for the first three months ..of next year will be very pronounced. Approximate f.o.b prices are ■as follow: Good fair £3B, high point fair £37, low point fair £36. Tow; First grade £l2 10s, second grade .'£ll 10s, third grade £lO 10s.
