FARMER S’ UNION PROTEST,
Christchurch, Oct. 25
The executive of the North Canterbury Farmers' Union has passed the following resolution: “The Farmers’ Union proiesi against tin* arbitrary action of (he (lovernment in singling out the dairymen of. New Zealand for class taxation. We. maintain that this position is economically unsound, and is, besides, unmoral in principle. In the modern order of tilings butler is no more a necessity than a thousand other things, and we strongly protest against the tax on butter, and uphold the Dominion Executive in its efforts to obtain redress.”
