XEW ZEALAND’S WAR EXPENDITURE. Dunedin, Oct. 23. The Minister for Defence stales Hint the Dominion’s war expenditure is now over one million sterling per month, which Hie country is meeting without llinehing. This includes (he co>t of the transport of (roops, also the payment of nil and the complete maintenance ot the division in the field. Mr Allen makes it clear that there is no foundation for the rumour that the New Zealanders are being sent lo the Balkans. Our strongest representation is on the western front and the division is likely to remain there. The mounteds are doing good work in Egypt, and there is no suggestion ot withdrawal.
