ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. Man named Charles W. Lynch, aped about 40 years, and described a- an accountant by occupation, was found lying on the roadside near Point .lerningham, Wellington, by the driver of the Union Company's motor-van yesterday ntornI itig. Lynch was taken to the Taranaki Street Police Station, where it was ascertained that he had lately come to Wellington from Wlmkatane. He was sulfering from a bullet wound in the head, and one a few inches below the heart. He told the police that he had shot himself with a revolver at about S o'clock the previous evening. He added that he had not been in pood health lately. Lynch was removed to the hospital, where, on inquiry last evening’, he. was found to he progressing favourably. KILLED WHILE DLASTIXC. Christchurch. Oct. IS. h'ohert Campbell, a married man, aped bS years, residing at Addinglon. was killed on the LytreltonSumner road works to-day during blasting operations.
