They are by no means broken down, bul proudly delimit, like boys who have been caught after a good light. The correspondent goes on to describe how an English prisoner, on being questioned by a German ollieer, assumes an attitude of extreme indifference, plainly but courteously permitting his questioner to feel that he would rather do something better than converse with him. One prisoner, on being asked what he thought Germany would claim when .she had won the Avar, replied, “Germany win ! Never! Quite impossible.” The correspondent mentions particularly the proud attitude of men of the Yorkshire and Lancashire regiments.
