ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Christchurch, Yesterday
A woman elicel smlelenly in a tearoom in Armagh street on Saturday night. She was iilonlilieel yesterday as Nellie Horn, ageel about 35, whose relatives reside in Wellington. She was here on a holiday, and dieil while drinking a cup of tea. Her relatives had only lately arrived in Wellington from Hobart. Joseph Henry Elstuh, aged 65, a moulder, residing in Barbaeloes street, hanged himself on Saturday night. Ho had been suffering from delusions as the result of an accident sustained ree-enlly.
Wellington, Yesterday
On Saturday night Engine-driv-er Parkes, who was with the train leaving Lamhton SI a lion for Upper Hint at. 10.35 p.m., noticed something lying at the side of the line a short distance north of Kaiwarra station. On making a closer examination he found the object to he the body of a man, terribly mangled in the lower extremities anel with a slight cut on the head. By the papers found on the body it was ascertained that lhe dee-eased was John William Wilkins, who resided with his wife and two children at 95, Richmond street , Pet one. He was 34 years of age, and had been employed in the railway timber yard at Kaiwarra.
The police are so far unable lo secure any direct evidence as to the valise of the accident. Deceased was a sober, reliable man.
