Our. columns; again chronicle another of these important events at Palmerston North. The dales set down are November Ist, 2nd and 3rd. These three days will he chock full and brimming over with interest, amusement and education to those of our readers who can find I lie time and opporaunit.v to pay a. visit to ihe show. The prize schedule lias been drafted in the broad and generous style for which the committee of the Manawatu and \\ est (.'oast A. and P. Association is noted. It is characteristic of that body to assist and encourage our export industries, which are, of course, mainly agricultural and pastoral. Its scope, however, does not stop (here, and we are pleased to notice an endeavour to help along the hemp industry, This in a division (hat has not been long dealt with at the Palmerston North Show, but it is growing, and exhibits are becoming' more numerous. The Committee has now increased the classes with very good prizes. The Manawatu Kennel Club’s show will be held as usual in No. 3 hall of the main exhibition buildings. Encouragement is extended to breeders of Aberdeen Angus cattle, one of our linesi beef breeds. A twenty-five guinea cup is offered by Air Frank Armstrong', of Akitio, for competition with the object of helping to popularise this breed of cattle. The handsome and spacious new cattle pavilion erected last year at a cost of over £4,000, has relieved exhibitors of valuable animals of all fear of had weather, and should conduce to very large entries in the pure-bred cattle division. We have not space to review the whole of the schedule, which covers ring events, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, fat ■stock, hemp, home cookery, art needlework, photography, art, technical and public schools work, woolclassing, fleece wool, horse-shoeing, the.
