BOWLING.

The Palmerston North Club officially opened the season yesterday afternoon. There was a very large attendance, eight rinks being fully occupied and a number of Palmerston players had to be content with acting as spectotars owing to there being so many visitors present. The following neighbouring clubs were represented : Terrace End, Feilding, Foxlon and Shannon. The green was officially opened by the President, Mr T. Griggs, who extended a very hearty welcome to the visitors. The green played well, and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent, the home players treating the visiting bowlers very hospitably. The following are the teams and scores in the games in which the Foxton players took part: — Walker Nash Admore Pa ton D. Whibley Tortonson Nye (s) 29 McKay (s) 10 Smith Rimmer Ball - Ait ken Hawke Hislop F. Whibley(s) 18 Griggs (s) 27
