CORRESPONDENCE.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—Dear, dear me, Mr Editor, “Subscriber” was not taking the ladies to task. He was merely suggesting the best practical method of submitting their audited balancesheet for the perusal of subscribers. I would be committing an indiscretion very, very grave to the conventional claims of the fair sex to dare further press them against their wish, but for the girls to want the men to pay them afternoon calls to view the balance-sheet, well —it seems too embarrassing. To publish the audited balance-sheet is proper. —I am, etc., SUBSCRIBER. [The “girls” never asked the men to pay afternoon calls to view the balance-sheet. “Subscriber” or any 'other person interested in the Guilds may obtain any information (hey desire by making application to (he secretaries. The affairs'of the Guilds are beyond suspicion, and in future we will refuse to publish any anonymous correspondence touching on (hem or their administration. — ■ Ed. ll.]
