A concession was made to special constables. Any man in (he force who had received his classification card from (he military authorities staling that he was passed for garrison duty or other work at home was exempted from Army Service, provided that he was over 25 years of age and married. Special constables holding the rank of a subinspector or any higher grade were also exempt.
