Tlie TTeallli Inspector (Mr M. O’Brien) reported to the Hospital Board meeting on Thursday on the health of the district for the past month as follows; There were l 28 eases of diphtheria in Ihe district, of which Palmerston contributed 18, Bedding 8, Boxton 3, Kairanga 1, Kiwilea 1. A case of ophthalmia, neaneatorum, a newly scheduled disease, was reported in Palmerston. The disinfection of 2t) premises had been carried out, besides drainage improvements effected in many dwellings and factories. In all, during the month 81 inspections were made and in almost all instances the recommendations made have been carried out. A case of tuberculosis also occurred in Palmerston.
