The Manawatu Herald. THURSDAY, SEPT. 14th., 1916. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
WE desire lo congratulate the local Horticultural Society upon the tinfjualilied success of its annual Bulb Show, and we think the members will agree with ns when we add that the credit in large measure is due to the president, Mr P. 0. Jackson, for his splendid enthusiasm. Since being elected to (lie presidency of the Society, he has infused new life into its affairs, and his.first show has proved what an excellent choice the Society made in singling him out for the ofliee. The Society now has a membership of upwards of one hundred, and it is Mr Jackson's objective to keep the membership at a minimum of one hundred. The shows are of educational value, and the good work it has already accomplished in fostering’ a love for (he beautiful is manifested in well-kept gardens in many homes. The Society is a valuable asset to the town, and deserves every assistance the public can bestow niton it.
