ENROLMENT OF RESERVISTS.
We received this afternoon the following communication from tin Prime Minister re enrolment certiorates; —
It is still evident from reports in Ihe [tress and from communications that have reached the Board, that there is a widespread anxiety on the purl of reservists for some evidence of their enrolment in the reserve, [tending the issue ot certiorates of enrolment. It has therefore been decided that the Government Statistician shall acknowledge the receipt of each application and that such acknowledgment will be a
temporary proof ol enrolment until it is replaced iu due eourse t>_v tlifcorliliciiU* itself. It will lie eleaiiy understood, oi course, (hut once the (uuMilieu 1 e is issued the temponni acknowledgment curd will entirely ceuse to iiuve any value us u prool of enrolment. Arrangements liuve been mude to overfuke the uccumulution of upplieutions already received, und it is hoped thul within the next week or ten days everj reservist who hus applied for u certificate of enrolment will huve received nu ucknowledgeinent card. Any reservist, therefore, who has applied for his certificate of enrolment, and who does not get an acknowledgment card' within the time stated above, should at once renew his application.
