PRISONER ESCAPES.

STILL AT LARGE. • Rotorua, August 29. Early this morning, William M’Lean, alias William Loft, escaped from the Kaingaroa Prison Camp, and he has not yet been captured. He was sentenced in December, 1908, at Auckland, to twenty years’ imprisonment for attempted murder of Constable Maher at Taumarunui. McLean or Loft, prior to being sentenced for attempted murder, was in this distinct, where he was known by the nickname “Buffalo Bill.” He has several prevails convictions for different offences.
