FOXTON BOWLING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING TO-NIGHT. The annual general meeting of members of the Foxton Bowling Club will be held in the Town Hall supper-room- to-night, at 8 o’clock. The following is the annual report to be submitted:—

“Your Committee have pleasure in submitting the statement of receipts and expenditure for the 1915-lfi season, and in doing so desire to congratulate the Club on the very satisfactory position disclosed. The season opened with a bank overdraft of £IIC Is Id, and during the year £3B 10s 9d has been expended on green improvements, .and an additional £lO odd paid to the caretaker for extra work on the green, the year (dosing with a debit of £129 lis 8d —a position which your Committee considers very satisfactory indeed. The statement of assets and liabilities discloses that the assets exceed the liabilities by £331 l()s lOd. The receipts from members’ subscriptions show tut increase over those of the previous year. The Club’s competitions were won as follows; Colts, Mr W. Smith; Holder Cup, Mr E. Ball, and handicap pairs, Messrs Large and Ball. For the handicap singles, Dr Ilislop and Mr F. D. Whibley. are equal, and will play off for the trophy during the coming season. Owing to the lateness in the season in commencing the competition for the trophy presented by Mr E. Ball, this was not completed, and the trophy will be presented for competition this year. , All trophies won last season will bo presented at the opening of the green. During the year the whole of the green has been levelled and top-dressed, and should be in excellent order this season. The thanks of the Club are due to the few members who carried out this work. Visits were paid to neighbouring.grdens during the season, and some very enjoyable games played. Your Committee appointed Mr 11. Webb as caretaker, and helms carried out his duties in a very thorough manner, the green and surroundings being a credit to him. The thanks of the Club are due to the bank guarantors, Messrs F. Kobinson, T. Himmer, and D. Whibley; donors of trophies, Messrs W. Petrie, I' 1 . Woods, A. E. Admore, J. Holder and E. Ball; and those who assisted with the work on the green. As in past years, afternoon tea was provided by the ladies on Wednesday afternoons, and their kindness and assistance in this -connection was much appreciated by members generally. In conclusion, your Committee desires to thank members for their assistance during the past year, and express the hope that the coming season’s operations will be as successful as the past.”
