In Saturday's issue we published particulars of the purchase of the < (porao Estate, Hawke's Bay. a property of (>,OOO acres, completely eipiipped and stocked with 10,000 -dice]) and 000 cattle. Referring to the above deal, this morning's Manawatu Times says;— "We have obtained permission to disclose the names of the purchasers of the Oporae estate about which there has been so much conjecture. When we announce that two praeti-
cal working farmers —Messrs V. S. Easton. of Eoxton. and Robert Steven.';, of Dannevirke —after a. critical examination of every portion .if the land and a valuation of the stock, decided to invest their capital to the extent of £120.001) for the purpose of holding and working Oporae as a going concern between them, it will be realised that the country has lost an opportunity to settle the (‘state as it should be settled, by a number of small holders. There tire no bettor judges of land in this country than the two gentlemen who now own this great fertile area of (i,OOO acres."
