RELICS OF ZEPPELIN Ll 5.

RECEIVED BY EOXTON RESIDENT. Mr G. Huntley, of the local borough stuff, received by the last English mail, from his brother (a special constable) at Ramsgate, some valuable souvenirs of Zeppelin Ll 5, shot down oil Ramsgate on March 31st lust. We have been shown the souvenirs, which consist of a piece of celluloid window, small piece of the balloonottes which looks like linen that has keen subjected to a waterprooiiing process, and a small piece of aluminium 'framework. The writer says: “Expect you read that Zeppelin Ll 5 was shot down by our guns off here on March 31st. They dragged her on to a sandbank off here, and have now taken her to pieces. Part of the Zeppelin’s wire fouled one of the steamer’s cables, so they towed it into the harbour last Saturday night at high tide, and it was a sight on Sunday to see the crowd armed with tweezers, etc., tearing it to pieces for souvenirs. 1 think everybody in Margate has got a piece of aluminium from off her.” Referring to the famous seaside resort, the writer says: —“Things are getting worse here, unci 1 don’t think there will be any season at all here this year - . There are over a thousand empty houses here at present, and am afraid as a result matters will be serious here next winter'.”
