THAT BELL.
(To flic Editor.)
Sir. —When there is a fire would it not be possible to warn the citizens without ringing that bell. I am afraid, sir, if that hell keeps on ringing until the last trumpet sounds it may awaken our Mayor and Councillors to their responsibilities. But they are taking too great a risk if they delay until that dread moment of the groat conflagration arrives, as the Ma.y«r and Councillors will then he too concerned about the incineration of their own bodies. If they do something NOW to protect property from the lire fiend it may stand to their redemption in the day of the great burn. —Yours, etc.,
CURFEW,
