BOROUGH FINANCES.

The borough treasurer reported at Monday night’s meeting of the Borough Council as follows; —

The following amounts were received during the month of July and placed to credit: District fund account £252 12s 9d, cemetery account £8 10s. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of Xew Zealand as at the 31st July, 1916, Avere as follows: District fund account, cr., £l4 3s 7d, and the ledger balances at the same date as folloavs; General £316 9s 6d, cookers and fittings £76 18s, hospital and charitable aid £l4 13s 7d, library £l7 10s 4d, sanitation £l7 8s 7<T, imprest cash £lO, Whirokino bridge loan £1 Us Bd. roads and streets loan £55 19s fid, Shannon bridge loan £9 11s Sd, Council chambers and public library loan £35 13s, Whirokino Bridge additions loan Xo. 2 £6 Is 6d, gas works loan £353 Is 4d, Coronation ToAvn Hall loan £69, all at debit, a total of £1,413 18s Sd. The accounts in credit are: Cemetery £l4 3s <d, gas works £175, reserves £137 4s sd, Town Hall £95 11s 7d, roads and streets loan Xo. 2 £5 9s Bd, and Beach road loan £1 19s lOd. total £429 9s Id.
