PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The quarterly executive committee meeting of the Buxton charge of the I’reshyterian Church Avas held in the local schoolroom yesterday. Present: Rev. J. H. Brodin (moderator), Messrs Costall and Parmer (Cleu Oroua), Villon Law, ami luglcy (Rangiotu), and Hornblow, Jno. Boss and Ronton (Buxton. Mr llornbloAV Avas appointed secretary vice Mr Richardson, of Tiakitahuna, owing to the district mentioned being merged into I lie Palmerston area.
The annua! balance-sheet was submitted by the treasurer, Mr henton. and disclosed a. very satisfactory state of affairs . Complimentary comments on the financial affairs were made by Messrs Wilton, Costall and Hornblow. It was resolved to pass a grant of f 5 to the minister for benzine for motor bicycle owing to the increase in the cost of the commodity. Messrs Costall, Walton and farmer were appointed a sub-committee with power to act. re church section at Rongotea. ll was resolved that delegate# convey to their committees the suggestion that anniversary services he held each year on a. date to coincide with the dale upon which the lirst services were held in the iespeclive churches. The anniversary services to he independent of I he' annual general congregational
meeting. . A sub-committee was appointed with power to act re fencing at the manse.
Notice of motion was given re rescinding a minute in connection with hospitality grant of £5 per year. The next quarterly meeting was fixed for Glen Orona, the third Tuesday in October. At a’ subsequent meeting of session, it was decided to hold the general congregational meeting at 1 oxton on Wednesday, August 9th, at 7.30 p.m.
