SEVEN WOMEN MURDERED,
BODIES FOUND IN CASKS
Details of the sevenfold crime which has been discovered at Zinkola, near Buda, Pesth, arc published iu the Berliner Tagehlatt. I) appears (hat information was brought to the authorities that seven casks ot exceptionally large size had been found in the attic ot a large house formerly tenanted by a cooper named Kiss, who had done a large and prosperous business before being drafted into the army. it was suspected that the casks contained benzine, and one ot them was broken open. It was found to contain a great bundle lied up in a sack and when this was opened the authorities found the body ot a, woman. As the cask had been hermetically sealed, the body was in a remarkable slate of preservation, and the neck still showed traces ol strangulation. The six other casks were then also opened, and in each was found the corpse of a woman. Investigation showed that Kiss had for several years led a luxurious existence on the moneys obtained from numerous women and girls to whom ho had promised marriage. Seven of these he had inveigled into the house iu order to mb and murder them.
It is stilted thiit Kiss, who w;is jt, rami of thirty-live, and of singularly unprepossessing appea ranee, died of lever while serving with the Austrian army in Servia.
