FULLER’S PICTURES,
The, change of programme screened at Fuller’s last night was particularly good throughout. The star feature, “The Tigress,” is a picture of sterling merit, depicting the life of a master (‘rook and his wife. There are some highly exciting, tense scones, and the climax leaves one admiring the self sacrifice of the mother, and hating the man who first brought evil upon her. Supporting pictures consist of scenic, dramatic, topical and comic items — a really good programme. Kill DAY AND SATURDAY. An outstanding feature of Friday’s change of programme is a London star drama, teeming with exciting moments, featuring Charles Rock, Gerald Ames and Gwynne Herbert, “Whoso Higgcth a Pit.” In this brilliant and swiftly-moving story the lives of a big financier and his junior partner is traced from the time that Hie financier leaves the young man a substantial legacy in his will. Edwards, the junior partner, has been speculating on bis own account, and has succeeded in keeping the knowledge from Warde, the financier, who imagines that Edwards has all I lie qualities of an upright, firm business man, and is secretly pleased to see that Edwards is in love with the financier’s daughter. Warde’s opinion of Edwards is not shared by Mrs Warde and her daughter. Warde is ordered away from all business worries into the mountains for a time in order that his nervous constitution may not bo impaired. Edwards accompanies him, and on Warde meeting with an accident, which renders (he services of a doctor imperative, Edwards sets out on the trail to bring one. While on his journey, a (ram]) attacks Edwards and renders him unconscious, steals his overcoat, goes into the lint, and gets fearfully intoxicated. Edwards has been pondering since he started on his walk that the death of 'Warde would he a benefit to Edwards’s prospects. He retraces bis steps, and, seeing the tramp in the lint, mistakes him for Warde, and sols fire to the place. Warde, who has recovered consciousness, sees Edwards do tins, and wonders why. Edwards reports to (he financier's wife bow her husband met bis death, and plunges into a series of criminal acts, thinking that he is quite safe. In the meantime, Miss Warde. has fallen deeply in love with a young doctor, who reciprocates her affection. Edwards plans a revenge, hut while planning out the details nemesis overtakes him by the arrival of the man who was reported dead. His arrival is kept secret till tho proper lime, and Edwards meets with a most dramatic fate, while the rest of the characters are seen enjoying a happy and prosperous future. The supporting items arc a very interesting lot.
