PRESENTATION TO MR. JAS. SENIOR.

Mi’ and Mrs Jas. Senior are to be entertained at a farewell social at Mr Langley’s accommodation house this evening, and are to ho presented with a, handsomely-bound testimonial as a mark of esteem from the seaside residents. The wording of the testimonial is as follows:—

To JAMES SENIOR Esq.,

Foxton. Dear Sir, —It is with feelings of sincere regret that we learn of your intention to leave this district, where for so many years yon have resided and taken so active an interest in all that has contributed to its advancement. We therefore feel that we cannot permit the opportunity to pass without in some measure placing on record, however feebly or inadequately, our cordial appreciation of your many excellent qualities, and the high estimation in which you are held by every visitor to the beach. Your urbanity of manner and

kindness of heart have merited the warmest regard of all who have enjoyed your friendship. Your self-saci’ilice and generosity of spirit have earned for you a sense of gratitude which cannot 1)0 expressed. As a sportsman, whether in shooting, fishing’ or boating, your services, not infrequently at some personal inconvenience, and your equipment have always been placed at the disposal of the kindred spirit, thus adding enjoyment to pleasure and happiness to both. Permit us, therefore, to present you with the accompanying as a slight token of our affectionate regard, and at the ■same time to express the hope that your and Airs Senior’s future will he marked by prosperity and happiness, crowned by good health to enjoy them. —We are, dear sir, Yours very sincerely.
