AM EXPLANATION. Christchurch, Yesterday. Mr A. W. Penned, manager of the New Zealand Shipping Company, speaking of the shipping deal, said it was perfectly true that the I', and O. Company would obtain (ho controlling' interest in the New Zealand shipping trade. Within the next two days advantageous proposals would he placed before holders in the New Zealand company, and if these were accepted they would he enabled to exchange stock for P. and O. stock. The new proposals would affect only ordinary shares, not debenture or preference shares. There would he no change in the management of the company. The line would he run as before, as a. separate unit of the I’. and 0. amalgamation, just as it did with the British India Lino last year. A WEAK STOMACH. A feeling of discomfort after eating, belching and sour stomach, indicates a weak stomach. “Digestive” medicines aggravate the trouble, for the digestive functions should be performed naturally. Chamberlain’s Tablets are especially suited for complaints of this character. They promote the flow of gastric juices, thus assisting digestion, and induce the bowels to act naturally. The use of most laxatives is followed by constipation, but a course of Chamberlain’s Tablets will strengthen the bowels to act regularly without assistance. For sale everywhere. —Advt.
