THEIR HUGE REVENUES,

In Parliamentary papers, Mr Bonar law furnishes the following details concerning the various colonies which have been taken from Germany by the efforts of the Allies throughout the war ; South-West Africa. —Area, 322,450 square miles. In 1914 estimated revenue £1,175,000, and expenditure £2,017,000. In 1913 imports valued at 43,400,000 marks, and exI ports at 29,100,000 marks. Cameroons, Area, 300,000 square miles. In 1914 estimated revenue £365,500, and expenditure £863,000. In 1913 imports were valued at 34,600,000 marks, and exports at 29,100,000 marks. Togoland.—Area, 33,700 square miles. In 1914 estimated revenue £175,000, and expenditure £209,000, In 1913 imports were valued at 10,600.000 marks, and exports at 9,100.000 marks. In the Pacific. —Samoa, 660 square miles, and Upolu 340 square miles. In 1914, estimated revenue £595,000, and expenditure £690,000. In 1913 imports valued at 5,700,000 marks, and exports at 5,300,000 marks. Kaiser Wilhelmsland and Pacific Islands. —700,000 square miles. No details of revenue. Bismarck Archipelago. — 22,640 square miles. Caroline Islands, Pellow Islands, Marianne Islands, and Marshall Islands* —Area, 1,000 square miles. Revenue estimated at £105,000, and expenditure at £191,500, Imports of Kaiser Wilhelmsland and the Bismarck Archipelago estimated at 5,872,000 marks, and those of Caroline and Marshall Islands at 3.335.000 marks, a total of 9,207,000 marks. Expenditure for the former estimated at 5,041,000 marks, and for the latter at 7,046,000 marks, a total of 12,087,000 marks. Kaio-Chau. —Area 200 square miles. Revenue lor 1914 estimated at 8,060,000 marks, and expenditure at 18,410,000 marks. In 1912, imports valued at 121,254,000 marks, and exports at 79,640,000 marks.
