The deputation was in charge of the lion ■I. (!. \V. Aitkeu, M.L.C., who introduced n to the Crime Minister. In ihe conr-e of hi,- reply. Mr Massey -aid the War Regulations Bill would not he dealt with until after the debate on the Financial Statement, which would probaly last for ten day- or 5,,. If anything was done in the way of early (dosing, it would be done in that Bill. Until the report of the I’etilions Commtilee was received nothing could be done, and it would be improper for him to commit the Government to anything. although he could expre-s his private opinions. He could only say that he was anxious to do all he could to promote the welfare of the soldier,- during the time they repre-cnied Xew Zealand here and at the front. The deputation accorded a vote of thanks to the Crime Minister and gave him three * rousing idteers.
