THE HEMP INDUSTRY.
The total number of bales of hemp graded during May was 10,841, as eompared with 0,403 for the corresponding month of lastyear, an increase of 1378 bales. For the twelve months ending 31st May, Jitlti, (he number of bales graded \vas 143,43(1, as eompared with 83,04!) for the previous twelve months, an increase of 00,378 bales. During the mold It 2,208 bales of tow were dealt with, as eompared with 2,535 for the corresponding month of last year, a decrease of 207 bales. For the twelve months ending 31st May, 1010, fin; number of bales graded was 311,303, as. compared with 22,010 for 1 he* previous twelve months, an increase of 1(5,777 bales.
