Supporting items are : “Special War Topical" ; “Tlie forecast," drama ; “The Topical Budget" ; “When Love Took Wings," a Keystone comedy. MONDAY (One Night Only), On Monday night, the management will present a brilliant production by the London Film Company, “Rupert of Heiitzau," sc<(ucl to the “Prisoner of Zenda." The story in brief is as follows : —Three years have passed since Rudolf Rassendyll crashed it lack Michael and held the - throne of Rumania for the helpless prisoner of Zenda, and King Rudolf V. forgets that he owes his life and his crown to the Englishman. Rudolf V. is full of jealous suspicions of his Queen, the beautiful Flavin, with Rassendyll. Fla via sends a letter of fai'ewell to Rassendyll. This falls into the hands of Bauer, a spy of Rupert of llenlzau's, who uses it as a lever for obtaining a pardon from the King for his share in the Black .Michael conspiracy. A copy of the letter is sent to the King, and Rupert retains the original. A telegram is sent to Rupert, telling him to meet the King at the huntinglodge in the forest (hat night at ten with the original letter. The Englishman intends to keep the appointment himself, and make an end of Rupert of Heiitzau. But the plan miscarries. Rupert comes to the lodge at the appointed hour and is surprised at the manner of his reception, the King and his solitary servant seizing their arms in utter consternation at the sight of the young outlaw. The King, thinking his old enemy has come to assassin-, ate him, tires and misses. Rupert retaliates with a fatal shot. By an accidental lire at the lodge thaf night, both corpses were burned beyond recognition. Old Sa.pt arrives and tells them of the destruction of the hunting-lodge, and insists that it is Mr Rassendyll’s body which has been burned beyond recognition. Rassendyll passes himself off as the King, and that night the spy Bauer* crept into (he garden to avenge his master's death, and fate decides the great question, for Rassendyll fulls mortally wounded by the traitor’s bullet. So Flavia’s dream came, true, and Rudolpf Rassendyll ]gy in, state in the great cathedral, while* all Streslan and the. black-robed queen mourned .for their murdered King, i BAKER BROS.’ CIRCUS. TO-XIGITT. To-night Messrs Baker Bros.’ huge new Australian Circus will appear in Foxton, and in view of the* very excellent performance given, on; their last visit, should he greeted with a full teat. Since their last visit the whole combination has been re-organised and added to, and is now the biggest waggon show touring 1 lie Dominion. The whole en(erlainment is of a first class order and is bright and clean.
