FOXTON HARBOUR COMMISSION.
PALMERETON SITTING
HARBOUR BOARD’S EVIDENCE
COMPLETED.
The Palmerston sittings ol the Eoxton Harbour and Main 'frank Deviation Commission was commenced at JO o'clock this morning, when further evidence in support of (he Harbour Board's case was given by several Palmerston merants as to Ihe value of the port to the whole district and the necessity of improving (he bar and river. The witnesses who gave evidence were Messrs T. R. Dodder (president Chamber of Commerce), J. C. Young (Dodder and Tolley, Ltd.), M. A. Eliott (Mellsop Eliott and Co.), E. S. Goldingham (Goldingham and Beckett, Ltd.), E. H. Crabb, W. Park and A. J. Kellow. This -concluded the Harbour Board's evidence. Mr R. M. MeYilly, Assistant General Manager of Railways, will give further evidence before the Commission at Wellington tor the Railway Department. MAIN TRUNK DEVIATION.
