A NOVEL WAY OF MAKING MONEY.
Widespread interest has been taken in a series of articles now running in “Everyiady’s Journal,” in which readers are advised various ways of making money. Sometimes a hobby, from which pocket money may be made, is suggested, and sometimes a livelihood is outlined, In this way practical instruction has been given in such occupations as spinning and weaving, leather-tooling, and various forms of fancy-work, herb-raising, and sundry branches of horticulture and agriculture. This month (May) there is a change, in the shape of a very brightly written interview, in which Miss Annie Jones, a clever young West Australian,, (ells how she raised over £SO by undertaking a story-telling tour through the cities and the backblocks of the Western State. The money was all given to the Patriotic Fund, and securing it Miss Jones had some strange experiences that; make capital reading. Another feature of this (May) issue of “Everyiady’s Journal” is the second series of puzzles in a big new War-puzzle contest that is just, beginning, with £SO cash, and 14!) other prizes. The subjects are •either places or men who have come into prominence in the war, and it may interest our readers to kn'ow that the contest is open to any reader of this paper who cares to buy “Everyiady’s Journal” locally for 7d, or send 7s for a year’s subscription to the publisher, T.
