HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT.
The High Commissioner’ ■ cabled yesterday at noon as follows: —
The market for New Zealand hemp is very unsettled owing to the great uncertainty regarding freight deliveries. Buyers show no disposition to operate except for parcels on hand or actually admit, and these unsold are very few. Prices are nominal. New Zealand good fair on spot £SO, fair £4B. FebruaryMay quotations, good fair £4B 10s, fair £46 10s. The market for Manila is fix-in, with a hardening tendency. May to July delivery, fair £54 10s, coarse £52. The output from Manila for the week was 20,000 hales.
