BOWLING.

An effort was made to arrange a match with the Palmerston Club lor the Ainsloe Shield, to he played tomorrow, but the holders were unable to play as the necessary two rinks on which to play were not available. The Palmerston Club is officially closing their green to-morrow, and a fairly large number of visiting bowlers is expected, and all the rinks will be used, so Fox ton will not get an opportunity to play for this trophy until next season.

There will be a “working bee” on the local green to-morrow afternoon, when the gate will he shifted and preparations made for topdressing the green. All members who are able to do so are earnestly requested to put in an appearance.
