SOLDIER’S TRAGIC HOMECOMING.
Private Thomas Jennings, of tho 4tli King's Liverpool Regiment, Lome on leave from the front, was admitted to the Ouvid Lewis Northern Hospital, Liverpool, on January 18, with a bullet wound in his arm. The circumstances of his homecoming were" extremely sad. lie wont to Francis nearly twelve months ago, and was admitted to hospital in Havre suffering from gas poisoning. While there ho received a letter tolling him that his wife had died. Jennings came to Liverpool tn the expectation of seeing his mother and his only child, and upon arriving learned that his mother also had died. Naturally, he was greatly affected. His leave expired on tho previous Sunday night, and although he went to tho station he missed tho train to London. He returned to his relatives in Burlington street, and was later found in the attic in a pool of blood and his rifle on the floor. He was removed to hospital and detained.
