ANZAC DAY.

The arrangements for the memorial service during the afternoon have been considerably curtailed, owing to the absence of the Revs. Bredin and Rowe, and the service will now be held in All Saints’ Church at 3 p.m. and will be conducted by the Rev W. Raine. Special hymns will be sung and a special welcome is extended to all to make the service a memorable one and a fitting tribute to our heroes who have died on Gallipoli Peninsula. In the evening at the Masonic Hall at 7.30 P-tn. a recruiting rally and welcome to returned soldiers will beheld. The speakers arranged for the evening are : Dr. Newman. M.P., and Mr Ernest Hadfield, of Wellington, who will occupy the first part of the meeting. The Foxton Patriotic Society will then extend tneir welcome to the returned soldiers, who are especially asked to roll up in force.

The ladies of the Executive are arranging matters with regard to the supper under Mrs Greig and Miss J. Ross and invite gifts of cakes etc.

It is hoped that there will be a large gathering and the parents and relatives of men who have gone to the front are especially invited.

A programme of vocal items is being arranged by Mr James Aitken.
