The Manawatu Herald. Thursday, April, 6, 1916. TOWN CLERK’S RESIGNATION.
A speciai; meeting of the local Borough Council will be held tomorrow night to receive the resignation of the Town Clerk, and presumably to take the necessary steps to fill the vacancy. The present official has filled the position for a period of nearly two years, and surprise will be expressed at his resignation, the reason for which, we believe, is purely on- family grounds. The Town Clerk’s resignation will afford the Council an opportunity of crefully reviewing the clerical administration of the borough, both from financial and other points of view. Judging by the numerous applications which have been received for similar vacancies in other parts, the Council should have no difficulty in filling the gap.
