WARSHIPS RETURNED TO
RUSSIA
4 Paris, March 30. Japan has Veturned to Russia the warships Sagami, Tango, and Soya, which were taken during the Russo-Japanese War. [Five battleships and two coast delence ships were captured by Japan during her war against Russia. The Peresviet (Sagami), 12,674 tons, was completed in 1901, and had an armament of four io-inch and ten 6-inch guns ; the Pobeida (Soya) was of similar tonnage and armament; the Poltava (Tango), 10,950 tons, completed in 1898, had four 12inch and twelve 6 inch guns. The other battleships captured were the Retvizan (now named Hizen), 12,700 tons, completed in 1902, carrying four 12-inch guns and twelve 6-inch; and the Orel (Iwami), 13,515 tons, completed in 1904, four i2-inch and six S-inch guns. The coast defence ships taken were the Seniavine (Mishima), 4.792 tons, lour 10inch and four 4.7-inch guns, and the Apraxine (Okinoshima), Jj.,120 (ons, three 10-inch and four 4.7-inch guns.]
