MOTOR CYCLES COLLIDE.
MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED
A serious accident occurred at the corner of Victoria Park yesterday morning, through a collision between two motor cyclists, resulting in one of the cyclists, Mr Bennett, of Wanganui, sustaining a broken hip and other injuries. As far as can be learned both motorists were riding on the wrong sides of the road, Mr Bennett travelling at a fairly fast pace. The motorist, a Maori, was riding at a moderate pace. Both rounded the corner, which is rather a dangerous one, at the same time, and when they saw each other both attempted to get back on to their ri«ht sides with the result that they crashed into one another. But motor cycles were very badly damaged, but the Maori escaped practically unhurt. Mr Bennett received medical attention locally and was afterwards taken by motor car to the Palmerston Hospital.
