BATHING FATALITY FEARED.
YOUNG LADY MISSING. EX-RESIDENT OF FOXTON. Hamilton, March 22. Miss Constance Grace Howan, aged 2G, who came from Wellington on a visit to her sister, Mrs Walsh, Forrest Lake, Hamilton, had been in the habit ot swimming in the lake in the early morning. She left the house at 6 a,m. today and later her clothes were found at the lake side, but there was no sign oi the young woman. It is presumed that while diving she struck her head on a log. The body has not yet been recovered. Miss Howan was well-known locally being an ex-pupil of the Foxton State school. She is the daughter of Mr S. Howan, now of Wellington, who reaided in Foxton for many years. She is a sister of Mrs A. S, Walsh, and Mr E. Howan, of Foxton.
