BOWLING.

Yesterday the Shannon Club held its annual pairs tournament, which this year was postponed from January 22nd on account of the . unfavourable weather conditions on that day. The green was fully occupied, Otaki, Eevin, Terrace End, Foxton and Palmerston Clubs being represented. Foxton was represented by Spring and Rimmer (s). Four games were played, the Foxton team winning two and losing two. They were defeated in one game by one point only, and in the Other the margin was two points. Altogether the tournament was a great success.

To-day the following rink from Feildingplays Mastertou (holders) for the Pixon Cup : Garrett, Mason, Say well, Fruish (s). In the local club’s competitions last week, RuSell and Hislop (scr.) beat Large and Ball (4) by five points and Large and Ball (4) 21 beat Walker and Heasman (5) 18 in the pairs contest, and for the President’s trophy Admore (8) 31 beat McColl (4) 13. On Wednesday next, a Terrace End rink, skipped by Sollltt, will play Rimmer’s rink for the Mana* watu Ferns.
