A MEAN THEFT.
Oh Saturday atternoon, between 4 and 5 o’clock, a mean theft was committed at the local Chinese laundry. In common with other business people, “John” had a patriotic box to receive voluntary contributions, on his counter. It contained a sum of three or four shillings. On returning from a visit to a back room, “John” noticed that the box had disappeared, and be is very angry. “Too gleedy ! too gleedy !” was bis way of expressing his disappointment at the loss of the box.
