The following telegram was yesterday received by the local agent of the N.Z. Shipping Co. from head office as follows : “Rates homeward freight are from Feb. Ist raised as follows (the rate is a consolidated one including war surcharge but subject to the xo per cent, primage): Greasy wool i-7&d per lb ; tallow 85s ; pelts gos, hemp 140 s, gum 755, copra 100 s. Will quote you rate on any other cargo on application as everything is raised/’
